2 Easy Drag and Drop Tools for Any Small Church or Organization

First of all, What is drag and drop?  That is a term used for applicaitons that you can select something with your mouse, hold down the left mouse button and drag it on to a page you are creating.  This makes it very easy for people to be creative without having to know complex web development languages.

There are many tools out there for building your own website, publishig news letters, on-line calenders, etc.  Most small organizations do not have the resources (financially or personell) for using electronic media.  I have found 2 tools that are very user freindly and can be used by anyone with little to average computer skills.

Website Builder - Weebly.com
This is what I use to build my website and is used to build other websites I support.  You can use the free version of this if you like. The only problem with the free version is that you can not use your own branding (like www.gibtech.com). You would use something like www.weebly.com/gibtech.  Go to www.weebly.com to learn more.

Newletters - MailChimp.com
If you want to put out various newsletters, email blasts, reminders, etc., MailChimp is also free.  You are only restricted to publishing 2500 posts per month.  I would suspect that any small business or organization would not reach the 2500/mo. cap.  The drag and drop features with this tool are excellent. You can easily upload your own pictures, manage distribution lists, and even have several authors with various levels of security.  There are also many templates you can use to chose from that can be easliy modified for your own needs.  My blog is automatically published with a MailChimp RSS template that pulls this blog from my own website.  All you need to do is give MailChimp the RSS feed url.  Very nice. Go to www.MailChimp.com to learn more.

Look for my YouTube video reviews of these tools coming soon.
